DRAWING TIPS for BEGINNERS

HI, LynFriends!

Welcome to my first ever blog .ʕʘ‿ʘʔ.!!!

So, I'm Lynexx. Maybe you know me by Instagram ( @ev3draws ) or randomly search it. But, yea... It's me!

Well, mostly people are asking to me "How could you draw so well?", "Teach me how to draw", "Can you draw for me?" and more.

Actually, the answer is very simple, but hard to do. I'm not going to blabber much nonsense, so let's just go to DRAWING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS!

#TIP 1 Study Poses and Try to COPY/REFERENCE Them!

Well, mostly we will start learning on poses. It's okay to start with a simple pose. You're still learning and it's not only you who is still learning.

You can use your friends/family as a pose reference! (as long as they wanted to)
Or, you can try google some pose references and try to copy them!
Tracing is still allowed if you're learning.

Let me show you some pose references.↴↴↴↴

#TIP 2 Find your ART STYLE

Nobody can purely create his/her own Art Style!
It's okay to copy some artists art style and make a fusion of it! Artist's art style is also inspired by other artists.

Example, you love someone's art style and you wanted to have that type of art style. You can try to imitate it and change some part.

Or, you can combine random kinds of art style that you like!

#TIP 3 Color Scheme

CHOOSE YOUR COLOR!
Color that you put into your drawing may be the part of your art syle!
We'll start with the basics...

There are primary colors, red, yellow, and blue.
Secondary colors are colors mixed up from 2 primary colors, orange, green, and purple.
Tertiary colors are colors mixed up from a primary color and a secondary color.

We at least have to learn the color theory to mixed up some colors and shading and highlighting.
As we can see on the second picture, there are lines on the color wheel. Those are variations of shading or highlighting.

I usually use analogous color to shade and highlight because they're alike and relative.
There are also hues, gray scale, chroma, values, but I won't be explaining here, since this is not about color theory.

Oops, carried away, let's go to the next tip! ( °Д°)

#TIP 4 Explore, Getting Inspiration and Never be afraid of getting/asking a Critique

Waaa, what a long tip (°ロ°)!
But that's the way to improve your art. It's okay if you ran out of ideas. You may surf the internet, play games, read stories/comics, socializing and more!
(as long you don't get carried away ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) )

Be noted that inspired and copying are different!
Copying means we copy the whole idea, while inspired means that we got ideas from something (and purely not copying)

Examples...
Art by rairaizone on Instagram

My art

Maybe some of you have seen my art, and yea... I got inspired by the photo above by rairaizone on Instagram. Literally the electric effects from rairaizone are from the bottom, while mine is from parts of the body. But I didn't fully copy it.

Also, don't be afraid for asking critiques or got a critique. A good and constructive critique always has tips on how to improve, not degrading the art.

#TIP 5 PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE

Literally this is the very common tip and also the hardest part.
Mostly we loose motivation so that's why we don't want to draw.

How can we improve if we don't draw?
Believe me that an artist who draws 30 times per day improves faster than artist who draws 1-2 times per day.

You can draw simple doodles, no need to be a super masterpiece. Cause, little by little, it will go huge!
You can draw face expressions, scenery, patterns, or anything! As long you enjoy it!

I guess that's all! Thankies for reading my blog! Stay tuned for my next Art Tip!
